AKP Phnom Penh, Cambodia will virtually organize the ASEF Editors’ Roundtable, a side event of the 13th ASEM Summit, scheduled for November 2021, due to the COVID-19 threat.

The update was shared by H.E. Meas Sophorn, Under Secretary of State and Vice President of ASEM Summit’s Side Events Organizing Commission, in a recent interview with AKP.

The two-day event will be coordinated by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) and hosted by Cambodian Ministry of Information, and between about 13 editors each from Asia and Europe are expected to attend the forum, he said.

Cambodia, he continued, will identify a representative to attend the event among a total of between 24 and 26 participating prominent editors.

According to the undersecretary of state, local reporters can physically join the forum on the second day. “Therefore, we can say that the Editors’ Roundtable will be held in hybrid format, anyway it will also depend on the COVID-19 situation until November,” he underlined.

The planned ASEF Editors’ Roundtable will be the 10th of its kind and aimed to promote dialogue and build relations among the editors from the two regions.
