Cambodia Expects to Receive 11 More Million Doses of COVID-19 Vaccines by August

Some 11 more million doses of COVID-19 vaccines Cambodia has ordered directly to the manufacturers are expected to arrive Phnom Penh by August this year.

The information was shared by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth while holding a meeting on June 24 via Videoconference with World Bank Regional Vice President for East Asia and the Pacific Ms. Victoria Kwakwa.

H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth informed Ms. Victoria Kwakwa of the Royal Government’s strategic plan for COVID-19 vaccination campaign to build socio-economic resilience in Cambodia by 2021 and its target to vaccinate at least 10 million people.

The target is estimated to achieve by October or November this year, he underlined.

Cambodia has so far got a total of over 9 million doses of vaccines: 3.2 million doses of Sinopharm, 5.5 million doses of Sinovac, and 324,000 doses of AstraZeneca/SII (COVISHIELD).

As of June 24, the vaccination coverage against COVID-19 pandemic in Cambodia reached 37.16 percent of the planned 10 million people to be vaccinated. The figures from the National Ad-hoc Commission for COVID-19 Vaccination show that 3,715,751 people have got their first dose, of them 2,762,777 have already received their second jab.
