The field of technical and vocational education and training, or TVET is so important that all stakeholders have to further contribute to developing it, according to Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen's message to mark the 4th TVET National Day on June 15 held this year under the theme “TVET Improves Skills and Higher Income”.
In the message, Samdech Techo Hun Sen instructed inter-ministries to promote the TVET and encouraged skill development for better income generation.
“The Royal Government of Cambodia has designated June 15 as TVET Day to promote a skilled and efficient labour force to meet the needs of businesses and industries, both domestically and internationally," he underlined.
In the past and present, he continued, the Royal Government of Cambodia has considered the development of technical and vocational education and training systems as the highest priority in all national policy frameworks.
The Royal Government has invested enormously in this sector to keep pace with economic development ambitions, he added.
To achieve these goals, the Royal Government has been working to promote the implementation of the National Employment Policy 2015-2025, the National Technical and Vocational Education and Training Policy 2017-2025, the Cambodia Industrial Development Policy 2015-2025 and strive to modernise the technical and vocational education and training system, focusing on improving the quality of public technical and vocational education and training institutions by expanding investment in the construction of physical infrastructure, including school buildings, workshops, laboratories, stressed Samdech Techo Prime Minister.
