COVID-19: 996 New Cases; 167 Imported

AKP Phnom Penh, Cambodia this morning reported 996 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), of which 167 were imported, pointed out the Ministry of Health in a press release.

The same source continued that the country’s COVID-19 tally now rose to 64,611, including 5,514 imported cases.

At the same time, it added, 813 patients have successfully recovered; bringing the total cured cases to 56,178.

Besides, the death toll jumped to 1,025 with 39 new deaths registered.

The first COVID-19 case was detected in Cambodia in late January 2020 in Preah Sihanouk province. The confirmed cases have surged quickly this year due to the Feb. 20 community outbreak.
