COVID-19: Cambodia Registers Nearly 900 Daily Cases

The daily new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Cambodia rose to 883 this morning; bringing the tally to 48,532.

A press release of the Ministry of Health shows that among the new infections, 135 are imported and the rest are locally transmitted cases connected to the Feb. 20 outbreak.

Meanwhile, it pointed out, 607 more patients have successfully been cured; the total recovered cases stood at 42,764.

Besides, the COVID-19 death toll jumped to 556 with 16 new deaths, the same source added.

The first COVID-19 case was detected in Cambodia in late January 2020 in Preah Sihanouk province. The confirmed cases have surged quickly this year due to the Feb. 20 community outbreak.
