Some 945 more patients have been allowed to be discharged after being tested negative twice consecutively for COVID-19; bringing the total recovered cases in Cambodia to 28,092, pointed out the Ministry of Health in a press release today.

Meanwhile, the ministry announced the detection of 589 new cases, of which 27 are imported and the rest are locally transmitted cases linked to the Feb. 20 Community Event.

Cambodia’s tally of COVID-19 thus jumped to 34,833, among which 1,095 are imported cases.

Besides, three new coronavirus-related deaths were registered; the total number of fatal cases rose to 266.

The first COVID-19 case was reported in Cambodia in late January 2020 in Preah Sihanouk province. The confirmed cases have surged quickly this year due to the Feb. 20 community outbreak.
