Mandatory Mask Wearing and Safety Distancing Imposed in 15 Other Provinces

 

Fifteen more provinces have been set for mandatory mask wearing and safety distancing due to COVID-19 community threats, according to an announcement of the Ministry of Health issued this evening.

The 15 provinces are Pursat, Battambang, Mondulkiri, Rattanakiri, Kratie, Stung Treng, Kampot, Kep, Kampong Thom, Preah Vihear, Pailin, Koh Kong, Kampong Chhnang, Thbong Khmum, and Oddar Meanchey.

The obligation comes into force from Aug. 16 until further notice, the announcement underlined.

The Ministry of Health asked competent authorities at all levels to take measures to ensure the mandatory mask wearing and safety distancing and the public to take part in carrying out this obligation to prevent the COVID-19 spread.

The mandatory mask wearing and safety distancing has so far been imposed in Phnom Penh capital and the provinces of Preah Sihanouk, Kandal, Prey Veng, Siem Reap, Svay Rieng, and Banteay Meanchey.
