Mild COVID-19 Patients Officially Allowed to Receive Treatment at Home

Patients with COVID-19 disease living in Phnom Penh are now officially allowed to receive care and treatment service at home.

This was announced this morning in a press conference on dissemination of procedures and mechanisms for home treatment.

The conference was attended by H.E. Dr. Ngov Kang, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Heath; H.E. Prof. Heng Sethy, Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health; Mr. Ket Chhe, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh; and Dr. Ngy Meanheng, Director of Phnom Penh Municipal Health Department.

Home care and treatment can be done for mild and asymptomatic COVID-19 patients. Children with COVID-19 symptoms are also permitted to be treated at home.

But those presenting severe COVID-19 symptoms must be hospitalised at the designed hospitals.

As of now, 1,033 COVID-19 patients with mild condition have undergone home treatment and of them, 268 have been successfully cured, according to Dr. Ngy Meanheng.
