The Ministry of Health on Aug. 16 launched a national campaign to get the public responsibly united against COVID-19 through awareness building and reinforcement of safety measures.

According to the ministry’s press release, the so-called “Together with Shared Responsibility to Contain COVID-19” campaign aims at alerting individuals, families, communities, institutions, local authorities, and the private sector to ensure full compliance with the safety measures guided by the Royal Government.

The national campaign was kick-started as Cambodia is fighting against the spread of the disease, especially the new Delta variant.

The implementation of preventive measures against COVID-19 needs to be perceived as a new normal in the daily life of everyone and all stakeholders, stressed the release.

The Ministry of Health also urged the competent capital and provincial authorities to continue widely disseminating the safety measures against COVID-19.

As of Aug. 16, Cambodia logged a total of 86,041 COVID-19 detections – of them, 81,202 have been cured and 1,704 deceased.
