New Czech Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call on Cambodian Senate President

Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, President of the Senate of Cambodia, received newly appointed Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Cambodia, H.E. Martin Vávra, at the Senate Palace here this morning.

In the courtesy meeting, H.E. Martin Vávra pledged to deepen more cooperation with Cambodia in different fields, especially trade, economy, and tourism.

For his part, Samdech Say Chhum expressed his intention to promote the relations between the Cambodian and Czech senates, through visit exchange at all levels and mutual support in inter-parliamentary framework, as well as highlighted the 65th anniversary of Cambodia-Czech Republic diplomatic ties.

Samdech Say Chhum also informed his guest about the 13th ASEM Summit and the 11th Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership Meeting to be hosted by Cambodia in November this year, and invited Czech leaders to attend these upcoming events.

Cambodia and Czech Republic established their diplomatic relations in 1956. After Cambodia’s liberation from the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime in 1979, Czech Republic is one of the main development partners of Cambodia.
