Over 100,000 Tourists Recorded in Third Weekend of June

Some 109,095 people travelled to different tourist destinations across the country on June 18-20, the third weekend of June.

Of the domestic visitors, 107,762 were national tourists, and 1,333 were foreign visitors, pointed out H.E. Thong Khon, Cambodian Minister of Tourism.

The figures represented an increase of 53.93 percent compared to the previous week, but a decrease of 28.72 percent compared to the same period of June 2020, he added.

The most visited tourism destinations were Phnom Penh capital, followed by Kampot, Kampong Speu, Battambang, Preah Sihanouk, and Kep provinces, underlined Minister added.

The Ministry of Tourism has so far advised the provincial and municipal tourism departments and tourism-related businesses as well as other relevant parties to strengthen the health preventive measures to ensure safety of the tourists and community.
