Prevention of Imported COVID-19 New Variant in Battambang Reminded

Battambang provincial authority was reminded to tighten the containment of imported COVID-19 new variants not to further spread into the community.

The reminder was made by Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Head of the Royal Government Working Group for Battambang province, via a Zoom meeting on combating COVID-19 and related challenges in Battambang province this morning.

A tighter prevention of the spread of the new variant was reminded because the border province is a hot entry point of repatriating Cambodian migrant workers from Thailand, he added.

Samdech Sar Kheng also underlined the effort of the Royal Government and Battambang provincial authority so far in implementing the safety guidelines responsibly.

He appreciated all national working groups for their support for the province in fighting against COVID-19.

During the meeting, H.E. Nguon Ratanak, Governor of Battambang province expressed his determination to implement the recommendation thoroughly to address COVID-19 issue as well as to ensure safety for the people.
