Residensi Klebang 2 Housing Project Reaches 99 Per Cent Completion

The Residensi Klebang 2 housing project under Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia (PR1MA) here is almost 99 per cent complete and is expected to conclude soon, says Melaka Housing and Local Government, Drainage, Climate Change and Disaster Management Committee senior chairman Datuk Rais Yasin. He said the remaining work of the 800-unit apartment project only involved infrastructure development. 'I was informed by PR1MA earlier regarding Residensi Klebang 2, and they have committed to completing the project as soon as possible... only less than two per cent remains, and it is only an infrastructure issue. 'I have received many complaints from buyers who have been waiting for a long time, and some have already started repaying their loans,' he told reporters here today. He said this after officiating the Second Edition of the Melaka Housing and Property Expo, which was also attended by the chairman of the Melaka Real Estate and Housing Developers' Association (Rehda) Datuk Ngoh Chun How. Commenting further, Rais sai d the state government hoped the project could be completed as promised earlier and handed over to the buyers. He said if the project continued to be delayed, his party would lodge a complaint with the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) for appropriate action. 'At the state government level, through the local authorities and the Melaka Housing Board, we continuously assist and monitor because we do not want buyers to suffer,' he said. Last year, the media reported that Residensi Klebang 2 was among three housing projects under PR1MA categorised as 'sick projects,' and the project was supposed to be completed in the first quarter of this year. In another development, Rais said 24 exhibition booths, involving 20 private housing developers, were participating in the Melaka Housing and Property Expo from Oct 3-6. He said the expo offered 3,980 housing and commercial properties with a sales value exceeding RM1.83 billion. Source: BERNAMA News Agency
