Samdech Heng Samrin Congratulates CPP’s 70th Founding Anniversary

Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, Honorary President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) extended his congratulations on the occasion of the CPP’s 70th Founding Anniversary.

“During the past 70 years, we have tried our best, made sacrifices and actively participated in serving, defending, and developing the nation, overcoming countless obstacles,” he said.

The CPP has led a resistance movement against the French colonisation for national independence; then actively took part in the defence of national independence, peace and sovereignty from 1953 to 1970; liberated the nation from foreign invasion from 1970 to 1975, and from the Pol Pot genocidal regime on Jan. 7, 1979, Samdech Heng Samrin recalled.

“We cannot count all hardships faced by CPP. However, despite the fast and complex developments of national and international situation, CPP has stayed with the Cambodian people in all circumstances,” he underlined.

Samdech Heng Samrin appealed to all party committees at all levels and all party members to continue promoting the tradition of patriotism, strengthening internal solidarity, actively taking part in party building in all sectors in order to enhance the leadership capacity to attain more major and new achievements.
