Over 200 national and international athletes from 15 countries have signed up for the 2nd Cambodia Elephant Trail to happen from July 3 at Kirirom National Park, Kampong Speu province.
The Cambodia Elephant Trail is a trail running competition through the country's stunning pine forest designed by Cambodian sport lovers.
According to the event organiser Mr. Khy Sophea, the event presents two competitions: 12-kilometre running with 39 women and 77 men registered, and 32-kilometre race with 11 women and 63 men signed up.
The event is expected to engage peoples with sport, promote their love for the environment, and introduce Cambodia tourist attractions to the world, he added.
It will contribute to promoting eco-tourism in the country as well as local livelihood and overall socio-economic growth.
The running competition is supported by the Cambodian Athletic Volunteer Federation in collaboration with Vikirirom Pine Resort, and is sponsored by FWD Insurance and many other agencies.
