4.5 Million Doses of COVID-19 Vaccines to Arrive in Cambodia in June

AKP Phnom Penh, Some 4.5 million more doses of vaccines against COVID-19 will arrive in Cambodia in June, according to Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen’s voice message this morning.


“From 5 to 6 million people will be vaccinated by the end of this year,” said Samdech Techo Hun Sen.


The Premier reaffirmed that Cambodia will have enough vaccines for its people, the vaccines will arrive in Cambodia step by step as the government planned to vaccinate around 10 million people.


Samdech Techo Hun Sen also called for understanding and tolerance from those who have not been vaccinated yet, and for continued vigilance and adherence to the health safety rules, especially the “3 Dos and 3 Don’ts” measure.


Cambodia has set to vaccinate around 10 million people or 62 percent of the total population against COVID-19 and up to the half of 2022, more than 95 percent are expected to be inoculated.


The Kingdom has received over 6 million doses of vaccines: 1.7 million doses of China-donated Sinopharm, 4 million doses of Sinovac bought from China, and 324,000 doses of AstraZeneca/SII (COVISHIELD) via COVAX Facility. More doses are expected to arrive in Cambodia next month.
