Asian Development Bank (ADB) has affirmed to continue support for Cambodia with water resource sector for 2020-2022.
The affirmation was made by a delegation of ADB’s Country Programme Mission team led by Mr. Jiangfeng Zhang, Director of Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture Division of Southeast Asia Department during a meeting with H.E. Lim Kean Hor, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology recently here in Phnom Penh.
Mr. Jiangfeng Zhang underlined that the bank’s support will look critically into an Integrated Water Resources Management, including the river basin and sub-basin.
The commitment, he added, has been included in the country partnership strategy 2019-2023 of ADB in Cambodia, which is well aligned with the Rectangular Strategy Phase IV of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
The effort will contribute vitally to Cambodia’s endeavour to an upper middle-income country by 2030 and developed country by 2050, continued Mr. Jiangfeng Zhang.
Since 1992, ADB has financed 172 development projects in Cambodia worth about US$3,485 million, of the amount US$2,983 million are loans, and US$502 million are grants.
