Counter Counterfeit Committee of Cambodia signed yesterday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the European Chamber of Commerce to combat the import and distribution of fake products in the Kingdom.
H.E. Meach Sophana, president of the committee, said that the agreement will promote genuine products, and encourage investors from Europe and around the world to Cambodia.
Issue of fake products now is threatening the health of Cambodian people, and it is important to take multidisciplinary approach through good collaboration within the region and across the world to fight against fake goods, he added.
Mr. Arnaud Darc, President of European Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia said that companies have been distributing fake products within the last two year, so the European chamber of commerce has been cooperating with Cambodia's health ministry and relevant authorities and stakeholder to crack down the illegal acts.
