Agricultural Exports Significantly Increase Despite COVID-19 Crisis

Cambodia's export of agricultural products have seen a significant increase despite the COVID-19 crisis, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries said.

The agricultural exports reached 8 tonnes in 2021, up from 5 tonnes in 2017, H.E. Srey Vuthy, Secretary General and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, told reporters at a press conference organised here on Tuesday by the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit.

“The agricultural sector plays an important role in the local economy and accounted for 24.4 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2021,” he said.

Cambodia’s major agricultural products exported include milled rice, paddy rice, cassava, cashew nuts, corn, banana, mangoes, pomelos, pepper, chili, rubber, and so on.
