During the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in the first 4 months of this year, Cambodia’s export of milled rice to foreign markets rose by 86,489 tonnes, pointed out Cambodian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries H.E. Veng Sakhon.
The increase in the amount of milled rice export represented
40.46 percent compared to the same period last year, he added.
According to a report of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, from January to April, Cambodia exported a total of 300,252 tonnes of milled rice to international markets. The export to China accounted for nearly 41 percent, to Europe over 32 percent, to ASEAN bloc more than 12 percent.
The total official export of agricultural products in the same period reached more than 2 million tonnes, while the unofficial export was amounted to over 1 million tonnes.
