Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MoAFF) H.E. Veng Sakhon has received H.E. Zhao Shucong, Director of the Beijing-based Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation (APFNet) to discuss forestry cooperation.
In the meeting taking place yesterday morning at the ministry office here in Phnom Penh, H.E. Zhao Shucong informed the agriculture minister that his visit to Cambodia intended to check the progress of APFNet funded forestry project in Cambodia for possibility of more assistance.
The director expressed his appreciation of the project impacts contributing vitally to sustaining forest resources in Cambodia.
Both sides also agreed on continued cooperation worth about US$5.5 million to be happen in 2020.
On behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia, H.E. Veng Sakhon warmly welcomed H.E. Zhao Shucong and his delegation, and thanked the guest for supporting forestry in Cambodia.
Since 2008, ministry of agriculture has been cooperating with APFNet to implement four projects of around US$7.8 million in forest resources management.
