Angkor Dynasty Theatre Plans to Open New Complex in Preah Sihanouk

After reopening to the public in late 2018, Angkor Dynasty Theatre � A mixed-use precinct comprised of a performing arts theatre, shopping mall and waterpark � has unveiled its plan to open a new theatre in Preah Sihanouk province.

The theature beautified by the culture of Angkorian era is existing in Siem Reap through a joint venture between Cambodian Mega Asset Management and China Cultural and Industrial enterprise named MeiYi Group.

Mr. Li Yongxi, director of the Angkor Dynasty Theatre, said that his group is considering the construction of another theatre in Preah Sihanouk province thanks to increasing tourists in the coastal province.

The director could not detail the budget to invest in the second Angkor Dynasty Theatre, however, he shared that it will not as big as the one in Siem Reap.

Such theatre will not only entertain tourists, but also promote their understanding of Cambodian culture, he continued.

Located about five kilometers from Angkor Wat temple, Siem Reap's Angkor Dynasty Theatre cost nearly US$30 million;

With the capacity to host 1,200 seats � costing US$20 each for foreigner and US$8 for Cambodian, the entertainment complex is opened for visitors every evening from 7:00 to 9:00.

According to Mr. Li Yongxi, most visitor to the site are Cambodian, Chinese, Korean and Japanese.
