Mekong River dolphin has delivered a calf aged a few days now, according to wildlife conservation organisation World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
The new dolphin calf was spotted on Dec. 10 at Kampi pool in Sambok commune, Chetr Borey district of Kratie province, it pointed out.
This is the 13th dolphin calf recorded this year, and of those babies, seven were recorded in Kratie province, while six others in Stung Treng province, added the same source.
New born dolphin calves as well as the increase of the Mekong dolphins are the reflection of fruitful joint efforts in the conservation of the Irrawaddy dolphins between the Fisheries Administration, Kratie and Stung Treng Fisheries Administration Cantonments, WWF-Cambodia, communities, and all conservation partners, underlined WWF-Cambodia.
