Cambodia and Myanmar spoke highly of the good relations and cooperation between both legislative and executive bodies at bilateral and multilateral frameworks.
The remark was made during the meeting here yesterday between Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, and visiting H.E. U Henry Van Thio, Vice President of Myanmar, on the sidelines of the 2nd Asia-Pacific Summit (APS) being hosted by Cambodia.
H.E. U Henry Van Thio encouraged visit exchange at all levels. He also congratulated Cambodia on the successful hosting of 2nd APS, adding that his country will host the 3rd APS next year.
For his side, Samdech Heng Samrin said the presence of Myanmar delegation in the APS in Phnom Penh reflects the progress in close friendship and cooperation between both counties at present and in the future.
The Cambodian NA president stressed that the good bilateral relations and cooperation will contribute to maintaining peace, stability, and regional and global development. He also appreciated Myanmar leaders for their efforts in national reconciliation.
Besides Samdech Heng Samrin, H.E. U Henry Van Thio also held talks with Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, President of the Senate and Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia.
