Cambodia and Saudi Arabia have discussed and agreed on tourism cooperation toward mutual benefits, according to local media report.
The discussion was between Cambodia's Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon and Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Saud F.M. Al Suwelim at the ministry here in Phnom Penh.
The two sides agreed on the preparation of a bilateral memorandum of understanding to boost tourism cooperation, and touched on the possibility of direct flight and cruise ship connection between the two countries.
H.E. Thong Khon also encouraged fam trips of journalists, investors and tourists between Cambodia and Saudi Arabia as a promotion to start with.
From Cambodian side, he underlined, there will be a specially oriented hospitality and other services for Islamic tourists, including halal food.
All the discussions will be followed up and put into action by the two officials.
