Cambodia Bags US$465 Million from Rubber Exports in 11 months

Cambodia exported 322,586 tonnes of dry rubber in the first eleven months of this year, up 19 percent compared to the same period last year, said a report of the General Directorate of Rubber of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries released on Monday.

The Kingdom earned 465 million in revenue from the export during the said period this year, the source pointed out.

“A tonne of dry rubber averagely cost US$1,231 in the first eleven months of 2022, about 31 dollars lower than that of the same period last year,” H.E. Him Oun, Director General of the General Directorate of Rubber, said in the report.

Cambodia exports the commodity mainly to Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore and China.

There are in total 404,578 hectares of rubber trees in Cambodia, of which 315,332 hectares, or 78 percent, are old enough to be tapped, the report added.
