Cambodia Calls for Maintenance of Status Quo in Taiwan Strait Crisis

The Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) has expressed its concerns over the growing tension in the Taiwan Straits and calling on all parties to maintain the status quo.

“The RGC expresses its great concerns on the recent rising tension in the Taiwan Strait and urges all parties involved to abide by the agreements reached by the People’s Republic of China and the United States as stipulated in the Joint Communiqués between both parties,” said a statement of the RGC released tonight.

The RGC consistently and firmly adheres to the “One China Policy” and considers the issues related to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Tibet, and Xinjiang the internal affairs and under the sovereign rights of the People’s Republic of China, it underlined.

“The RGC calls on all parties concerned to find a peaceful solution, maintain the status quo, and avoid any provocation for the sake of peace, stability, development and prosperity in the region and the world,” it concluded.
