The number of Cambodia-China airline companies has increased remarkably, allowing more options and increasing air passengers contributing positively to economic growth in Cambodia.
The update was shared with local media by H.E. Mao Havannal, Minister attached to Prime Minister in charge of State Secretariat of Civil Aviation of Cambodia recently, adding that by far, there are a total of 19 Cambodia-China airlines, wherein five are Cambodia's and 14 are China's.
H.E. Mao Havannal continued that Phnom Penh International Airport has direct flights to China's 23 cities, while Siem Reap International Airport is linked to 23 Chinese cities and Preah Sihanouk International Airport to 15 cities.
With the connections, he underlined, the two countries have enabled 500 flights a week back and forth.
According to H.E. Mao Havannal, in 2018, Cambodia welcomed 10 million air travellers, up 23 percent compared to the previous years, generating approximately US$2.7 billion for the state's income.
