Japanese State Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries H.E. Kanji Kato has paid a visit to Cambodia and met with his Cambodian counterpart H.E. Veng Sakhon to discuss agricultural cooperation as well as agro business and investment.
According to a news release of the Cambodian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), the meeting took place in Phnom Pen on Monday afternoon.
In the meeting, H.E. Kanji Kato told H.E. Veng Sakhon of his visit in Cambodia, the purpose of which is to explore the potential of the agricultural sector, especially beef and pork meat industry between both countries.
For his part, H.E. Veng Sakhon expressed his gratitude to Japan for its assistance to Cambodia, particularly to the agricultural sector, and encouraged the Japanese side to consider opening more markets for Cambodia's agro products.
Currently, some Cambodian agro products such as pepper, banana have been exported to Japan, and Cambodia has been working to export its fresh mangoes to the country as well.
