Cambodia will join other countries to commemorate the 2020 World Ranger Day on July 31, according to the Ministry of Environment.
Cambodia first celebrated the annual event in 2017 with the participation of relevant institutions, national and international organisations, Buddhist monks, students, local communities, the general public and the private sector.
Founded on July 31, 2007, the World Ranger Day is aimed to give value and encourage all rangers for their sacrifice for the cause of environment and natural resources.
Other purposes of the celebration is to raise public awareness on the roles of rangers in Cambodia and inspire the public to take part with rangers in sustainably protecting and managing natural resources and the environment.
