Cambodia Remains a Safe Tourism Destination for Tourists

Cambodia remains a safe tourism destination for tourists, reaffirmed the Ministry of Tourism, appealing to the tourism operators and businesses as well as relevant private sector to join hands to accelerate promotion within the country and abroad and provide special tour packages inviting for travelling and local sightseeing.

In a press release on Tourism Status in the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Ministry of Tourism said that with increasing number of international tourists while the world has faced crises, especially the outbreak of a new respiratory disease (CoronaVirus), Cambodia remains a safe tourism destination for the tourists where such new respiratory disease (Coronavirus) is securely controlled.

We confidently declare that unpleasant occurrence of Coronavirus infection in Cambodia is under control, underlined the ministry, calling on the public to strictly follow the instructions of the Ministry of Health.

All tourism destinations in the Kingdom of Cambodia remain relaxingly active, secure and safe, the ministry added.

The tourism operators, private sector, all stakeholders and people are advised to further cooperate to uplift tourism industry in a manner to provide supports and solutions to mitigate the challenges as well as to raise involvement of tourism industry in Cambodia's economic and social development.

In 2019, approximately 6.6 million international tourists visited Cambodia, up 6.6 percent compared to 2018, along with about 11.5 million local tourists.
