The Royal Government of Cambodia has decided to set ‘August 20’ every year as the National Inter-Faith Day Against Human Trafficking, which allows all religious sects to gather to assess the results of the fight against human trafficking.
The decision was announced here this morning by Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen at the opening ceremony of the 6th National Inter-Faith Forum Against Human-Trafficking under theme “Do Not Use Cambodia as Destination for Trafficking in Persons”.
The celebration of the National Inter-Faith Day Against Human Trafficking in Cambodia on Aug. 20 will be implemented from next year onwards, he said.
However, Samdech Techo Hun Sen asked all stakeholders to work together 365 days a year, not just on Aug. 20 to combat human trafficking.
The Premier also called on all religious sects to enhance their religious harmony in Cambodia to maintain peace and security for the people.
