Cambodia-UK Bilateral Trade Valued at Over US$800 Million in 11 Months

The two-way trade between Cambodia and the United Kingdom has increased by 7 percent to US$837.66 million in the first 11 months of this year, according to the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce.

The figures were mentioned during a meeting here yesterday between Mr. Thol Nara, Deputy Director General of International Trade at the Ministry of Commerce, and a British delegation led by Mr. Stewart Clayton, Country Director of the Department for International Trade based at the British Embassy in Phnom Penh.

On the occasion, the two parties discussed the possibility of preparing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Cambodia and the UK on the establishment of a joint trade and investment forum in order to seize future bilateral trade opportunities, in particular to promote closer relations between both countries’ private sector.

The MoU will become a tool for connecting, advancing cooperation and sharing opportunities between the two nations’ business partners.

Cambodia and the United Kingdom will mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations in 2023.
