Cambodia, Vietnam Acknowledge Joint Topographic Map

Cambodia and Vietnam have acknowledged the joint topographic map, according to H.E. Ms. Koy Pisey, Vice Chairwoman of Cambodia Border Affairs Committee (CBAC).

The mutual handover ceremony of the map took place recently at Moc Bai international border gate in Tay Ninh province of Vietnam.

H.E. Var Kimhong, Senior Minister in charge of CBAC and Chairman of Cambodian Joint Commission on Demarcation for Land Boundary and his counterpart H.E. Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Deputy Minister of Vietnam’s Foreign Affairs, chaired the historical event.

During the ceremony, the two sides officially examined and agreed on the joint topographic map compiling as an album in 500 copies: 250 in Khmer-Vietnamese language and another 250 in Vietnamese-Khmer language.

It is a verified map scaling 1/25,000, H.E. Ms. Koy Pisey continued, and it illustrates clearly and exactly the joint border lines, border markers and geographic situations.

She added that the border demarcation and marker planting along Cambodian-Vietnamese borders conforming to that 1/25,000 scaled map has now achieved about 84 percent.
