Cambodia Will Need More Workforce for Tourism

Cambodia will be in need of 200,000 staff for tourism sector by 2020 in order to meet tourism growth in the Kingdom.

The update was shared with local media by H.E. Hor Moniroth, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Tourism when chairing the opening of a training on tourism industrial development and management for Cambodia toward industry 4.0 here in Phnom Penh yesterday.

During the occasion, H.E. Hor Moniroth underlined the ministry's effort in resolving challenges related to the shortage of tourism workers through provision of various training.

To embrace the Industry 4.0 in tourism, the Royal Government of Cambodia has also developed a new strategy called Digital Tourism Development 2020-2023.

He added that the strategy covers key areas such as tourism license and other online registration, utilisation of QR code and mobile applications, and beyond.
