Cambodian-born South Korean Billiards Star Visits KOICA Cambodia Office

 

Ms. Sruong Pheavy, a Cambodian-born South Korean Billiards Star, and her colleagues, Mr. Ruos Sath, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Chhorn Bona, Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer of R2S Cambodia, and Ms. An Monita, a Cambodian top young outstanding and multi-talented woman, paid a visit to KOICA Cambodia Office in Phnom Penh on Jan. 27.

The visit was warmly welcomed by Mr. Rho Hyunjun, Country Director, Ms. Shin Jungyeon, Senior Deputy Country Director, Ms. Kim Junsu, Deputy Country Director, and Mr. Song Youngjun, Deputy Country Director, Ms. Shin Hojin, Coordinator, as well as Mr. Hort Sroeu, Senior Programme Specialist of KOICA Cambodia Office.

According to a press release of KOICA AKP received this afternoon, the visit aimed at discussing possible areas of future joint cooperation in terms of ‎conducting joint social activities in Cambodia between the two parties. Additionally, it aimed at learning more about the activities of the KOICA Cambodia Office.

On the occasion, Mr. Rho Hyunjun welcomed the delegation and stressed the importance of cooperation in social activities in Cambodia. He also said that KOICA has been organising many social Activities in cooperation with public and private institutions, and non-governmental originations. In addition, he highlighted that the KOICA’s volunteer members in Cambodia have carried out a voluntary activity called “Soksabay”, and alumni of the KOICA’s global training programme called “CAMKAA-Cambodia-Korea Alumni Association” with the support from KOICA has carried out social activities or/and campaign every year.

Moreover, Mr. Rho Hyunjun briefed the delegation on the activities of KOICA Cambodia that KOICA has been supporting many projects and programmes in the fields of Water Management and Public Health, Education, Agriculture, and Rural Development, and Transportation of a value of about US$336.7 million dollars from 1991-2022.

The delegation in return said that they will check possible opportunities to conduct new social activities with the KOICA in the coming months of this year or the coming years.

At the end of their visit, the delegation was given a tour of the KOICA Cambodia Office to learn about the organisation and meet other KOICA staffs from the project team and the volunteer team.
