Cambodian International Airports Expect More Growth This Year

The three international airports in Cambodia are expected to serve more passengers this year, but at a slower pace, pointed out a news release of Cambodia Airports AKP received this morning.

The passenger throughput at the three international airports (Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville) should continue growing but at a slower pace, underlined the same source.

Cambodia Airports, the company developing and managing the three international airports, also shared the statistics of achievements in the previous year.

The annual total passengers for the three airports were recorded at 11.6 million passengers, up 10.2 percent compared to 2018, it said.

Phnom Penh International Airport welcomed 6 million passengers (a new record as the 6-million pax mark was crossed for the 1st time), a year-on-year increase by 11.2 percent, but Siem Reap International Airport had only 3.9 million passengers, down 12.3 percent.

For Sihanoukville International Airport, the number of passengers saw a remarkable increase by 158 percent to 1.6 million last year.
