Cambodian PM Calls for Collaboration to Promote Elderly Citizen’s Welfare

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has appealed to all stakeholders to contribute to improving the welfare of the elderly citizens.

According to his message to mark the International Day of Older Persons (Oct. 1), Samdech Techo Hun Sen considered this Day as a day to pay gratitude to the elderly people in Cambodia and in the world as well as to promote our responsibility in building a more caring society for the well-being of people of all ages, especially that of the elderly.

The Premier also recalled the Kingdom's good tradition, custom, rich culture, and achievements left behind by our ancestors and elders.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen thus appealed to the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, the National Committee for Older People, all ministries and institutions, competent authorities at all levels and other relevant parties to increase their attention and support to promote the older people's well-being.

The theme of this year's celebration of the International Day of Older Persons is "supporting the older people's welfare is an important factor to implement the social welfare system of all ages in Cambodian society.
