Cambodian PM Candidate, No Need to Ask Support from Any Countries

There is no need for Cambodian Prime Minister candidate to ask permission and seek support from other countries, but s/he must follow some internal procedures in conformity with the laws.

The comments were made by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the graduation ceremony of 3,075 graduates of Asia Euro University held at Chroy Changvar International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh this morning, in reaction to some negative analyses on the recent visit to Vietnam by Lt. Gen. Hun Manet, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen explained that the Prime Minister candidate needs support from his/her political party, then join the national election and win. After that, s/he forms the government and asks for a vote of confidence from the National Assembly.

The Premier also expressed his regret that those analysts did not analyse Lt. Gen. Hun Manet’s visit to Japan during which the number of meetings was higher than in Vietnam.

According to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, besides Vietnam, Lt. Gen. Hun Manet has recently visited many countries, including Singapore, China, Japan, Brunei, and so on.
