Ministry of Women's Affairs is providing technical capacity building session among direct implementers focusing particularly on justice for women.
Taking place in Siem Reap province, the three-day training from June 4 to 6 was done in cooperation with the UN agency to promote gender equality known as UNWOMEN and the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID).
About 35 legal service providers, policy makers from relevant government bodies and UNWOMEN's programme officials attended the course officially opened by H.E Ms. Hou Samith, Women's Affairs Secretary of State.
From the training course participants have broadened their understanding of women's rights defined in Cambodia's and international legal frameworks.
Along with how in-depth analysis of discrimination of girls and women, especially those from vulnerable and unfortunate background, they were exposed to mechanism and legal tools needed to ensure proper protection and justice for them.
