China-Cambodia relations will continue to grow in vitality, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Wang Wentian was quoted as saying in his remarks on the 73rd Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China on Saturday.
“China and Cambodia are close friends and good neighbours. The bond of friendship between our two countries has withstood the test of major global changes and become exemplary for the international relations,” he said. “The friendship has been greatly strengthened in our joint efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, with China becoming Cambodia’s true strategic support for vaccine supply worthy of the name.”
Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway will be put into operation soon; the construction of Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport is in full swing; Cambodian agricultural products such as fish, corn and longan have been approved to export to China; bilateral cooperation in law enforcement and security deepens; major collaborative projects between the militaries are progressing smoothly; Cambodian students in China have successfully returned school to resume their studies, H.E. Ambassador enumerated.
The two countries continue to support each other on their respective core interests and major concerns, he continued, stressing that China and Cambodia relations have grown from strength to strength.
“I am convinced that by following the strategic guidance of our leaders and pooling efforts of our peoples, China-Cambodia Community with a Shared Future is bound to reach ever more new heights. Our bilateral relations will, without a doubt, usher in the next 65 years of vigorous development,” said H.E. Wang Wentian.
Cambodia and China will celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations next year.
