China Development Bank Eyes More Investment in Transport Sector in Cambodia

China Development Bank (CDB) is interested in investing more on transport sector in Cambodia, especially new Phnom Penh International Airport, development of logistics centre and Sihanoukville Autonomous Port.

The plan was unveiled by CDB Guangxi Branch General Manager Mr. Wei Shinwen while paying a courtesy call on Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport H.E. Sun Chanthol, at the ministry office Thursday.

Mr. Mei Shiwen updated the minister about results of cooperation between the ministry and CDB in contribution to infrastructure development in Cambodia.

H.E. Sun Chanthol thanked CDB for its financial support for construction projects of Phnom Penh-Preah Sihanouk Expressway and the new international airport in Siem Reap province.

The minister requested CDB to look into the investments in road, expressway, seaport, railroad, city transport system, and waterway.

He also requested CDB to consider possible financial support in public awareness building campaign on traffic accident.
