The Royal Government of Cambodia has allowed the resumption of cinemas across the country following months of closure due to COVID-19 threat.
The permission to reopen the cinemas was issued by the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts yesterday, stressing the requirement for all the cinemas to ensure strict safety standards guided by the Ministry of Health.
The ministry, added the statement, has also assigned a working group to monitor the compliance with the safety measures in order to mitigate COVID-19 outbreak.
Due to the threat of the pandemic, the Royal Government of Cambodia on Mar. 17 decided to close events that brought a large group of people together, including cinema.
As the disease is now under better control, the government has allowed resumption of cinema as well as other gatherings.
