Recent meeting of Council of Ministers chaired by Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has approved the draft of the Three-Year Rolling Public Investment Programme 2020-2022 worth US$14.48 billion.
H.E. Phay Siphan, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister and Chairman of Spokesperson Unite of the Royal Government of Cambodia said the rolling investment programme was endorsed to maintain the country's strong economic growth.
Cambodia has planned the spending of US$14.48 billion in more than 60 public investment projects from 2020 to 2022, he underlined.
According to the data released by the Ministry of Planning recently, the Royal Government has a total of 608 investment projects � 171 of which are active and needing an additional amount of over US$7.53 billion, and the rest 437 projects listed in the national strategic development plan, need an extra of more than US$6.95 billion.
Amount of committed budget is US$8.47 billion (US$529.8 million deriving from the national budget, and US$7.94 billion from contribution of development partners), so there is still a gap of about US$6 million.
The rolling investment programme covers four major sectors: the economy of US$943.9 million, finance over US$4.73 billion, physical infrastructure US$7.73 billion, and service and related areas more than US$1.01 billion.
Cambodia will spend US$4.55 billion for 2020 public investment, US$5.1 billion for 2021, and US$4.82 billion for 2022.
