COVID-19 Pandemic Not to Affect ASEAN Summit and National Development

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen this morning said that even though COVID-19 new cases are still found in Cambodia, the pandemic will neither affect the ASEAN Summit in November nor the national development.

Addressing to the graduation ceremony of 2,115 students of Phnom Penh International University (PPIU), Samdech Techo Hun Sen said Cambodia used to pass 52 days with zero COVID-19 infection, and no new COVID-19-related death for about five months.

According to the Ministry of Health’s news release, nine new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported yesterday while six more patients have recovered with zero new death.

As of Oct. 10, Cambodia registered in total 137,936 COVID-19 cases, of which 134,805 have successfully been cured, but 3,056 others have lost their lives.
