CRC Extends Condolences to German Red Cross over Devastative Flooding

Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC), has expressed her sincere condolences to Mrs. Gerda HASSELFELDT, President of German Red Cross, over the massive flooding in Western Germany.

“I am deeply saddened to learn about the recent severe flooding in the state of North Rhine-Westphalla and Rhineland-Palatinate on July15, which more than one hundred of lives have been lost and thousands of victims are still missing,” she wrote in her condolence letter dated July 20.

“On behalf of the Central Committee, members, staff, volunteers and youth of the Cambodian Red Cross and on my personal behalf, I would like to extend my sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy through the German Red Cross to all those who in this catastrophes lost their loved ones,” she added. “May I pray for the speedy recovery to those injured and successful rescue of those missing and the rapid restoration of the flood-ravage areas.”

Earlier on July 19, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn also sent condolence message to H.E. Ms. Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany and H.E. Mr. Heiko Maas, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany, respectively.
