European Union always takes clear stance in having good and comprehensive cooperation with Cambodia, affirmed H.E. Ms. Carmen Moreno, new EU Ambassador to the Kingdom, in a recent meeting here with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth.
H.E. Ms. Carmen Moreno also thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia for its support to the EU's operation in Cambodia and expressed her commitment to deepen Cambodia-EU cooperation in line with the Kingdom's priority needs and development programmes.
H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth profoundly thanked the EU for its strong and genuine commitment to contribute to the development of Cambodia towards the goals of 2030 and 2050.
Besides ODA, which still plays a key role in the development of Cambodia for a medium-term period, Cambodia needs to boost economic diversification with its major development partners, including the EU, through cooperation with the private sector to attract more investment and trade from the European Community, he added.
H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth laid stress on the Kingdom's efforts in enhancing its competitiveness, continuing investment-related infrastructural and environmental reform, promoting people-to-people relations via tourism, cultural exchange, human resource training, and soft and physical connectivity, and so on.
