The number of Cambodian female civil servants accounts for 41 percent, according to the statistics released here this morning at the Cambodian National Council for Women (CNCW)'s annual meeting.
Of the total 218,635 civil servants, 89,532 are women or 41 percent, pointed out the same source.
Among 43,849 civil servants at the national level, 13,664 are women or 31 percent; while at the sub-national level, there are 75,868 women out of 174,786 civil servants, it added.
Meanwhile, the number of women at the decision-making level, both in the political and public sectors, also saw an increase in recent years.
In 2019, there were 10 recorded female senators, 26 female lawmakers, 3 female ministers, 53 female secretaries of state, 70 female under-secretaries of state, a female provincial governor, 26 female deputy provincial governors, 6 female city/district/Khan governors, 194 female deputy city/district/Khan governors, 130 women commune/Sangkat chiefs, 37 female judges, and 23 female prosecutors.
