Five Countries Registered for Kun Bokator at SEA Games 2023

To date, five foreign countries have registered for Kun Bokator competition at the 32nd SEA Games to be hosted by Cambodia. The update was shared by Mr. Ou Dara, Deputy Secretary General of Bokator Federation of Cambodia (BFC), adding that the five foreign countries are Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines and Indonesia. The federation planed to organise international Kun Bokator arbitrators and judges training from Mar. 24 to 28 and the First Kun Bokator Championship 2023 from Mar. 29 to April 3, 2023. The events will be crucial for arbitrators, judges and athletes to test their capacity for the forthcoming SEA games, said the secretary general. There will be 16 disciplines for Kun Bokator at the SEA Games 2023: seven for individual and group performances and nine for fighting for weight categories of 50-55-60-65 and 70 kilogrammes for men and of 45-50-55 and 60 kilogrammes for women. Cambodia includes three identity sports for SEA games including Bokator or Lbokator, Kun Khmer and Chess (Ouk Chaktrang). In total, 36 sports and a demonstration sport (table football) have been listed for the 32nd SEA Games and 13 for the 12th ASEAN Para Games. Cambodia will host the 32nd SEA Games and the 12th ASEAN Para Games from May 5 to 17, 2023, and from June 3 to 9, 2023 respectively, under the motto "Sport: Live in Peace".
