Her Majesty the Queen-Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk has decided to grant US$20,000 to support the victims of the six-floor building collapse in Kep provincial city.
The grant was announced on "Royal du Cambodge" Facebook page this morning.
Many Cambodian senior officials, tycoons and other charitable people are joining hands to financially support the victims of this tragic incident.
Meanwhile foreign diplomatic corps, including the Embassies of Australia, China, France and United States of America as well as the United Nations in Cambodia have extended their deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to the bereaved families and wished the injured fast recovery.
An under-construction building collapsed on Jan. 3 afternoon, at around 4:30. The search and rescue operation under the direction of Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen continues until now.
According to Kep Provincial Administration, as of this morning, at around 9:30, the number of casualties rose to 48, including 25 deaths.
